Today at Media Works we had a great lunch meeting with Heidi Owsley and Kevin Freidman from the new Channel 104.3. Our client from Sinclair Broadcasting, Pete Ferraro, was able to come by and enjoy some food as well as get an update on the new format. WCHH recently switched formats in the Baltimore radio market from a smooth jazz station. The new station simulcasts an already popular Washington, DC morning show and we are excited to see how the new format will shake up the market.
The discussion took a few turns into the world of Arbitron’s PPM. Everyone is anxious to see how the new methodology for delivering radio ratings will affect the Baltimore market in 2009. The antiquated diary method for reporting consumer listening habits no longer has a place with the increasing fragmentation of media.
It was a great opportunity to take a couple hours to discuss relevant industry topics as well as brainstorm promotional opportunities for our clients on the new station.
